SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Drew Singerman has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from April 21-27. The selection is made by the conference office.
Singerman posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at flight five singles as No. 3 Furman topped No. 2 Samford 4-2 in the semifinals of the SoCon Men’s Tennis Championship on Friday. In the title match against ETSU, the senior defeated Miguel Este (6-2, 6-0) at No. 5 singles, as Furman fell to the Bucs, 4-2, in the finals. The Paladins made their third straight appearance in the title match and reached the final for the sixth time in the last seven championships.
The senior from Louisville, Kentucky, holds a perfect 4.00 grade point average and is majoring in health sciences.
