SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Katarina Kozarov has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played April 5-11, the conference office announced Monday.
Kozarov, a senior, went 1-0 in both singles and doubles as Furman, ranked 32rd as a team, swept Mercer, 7-0, on April 8.
The native of Novi Sad, Serbia, ranked seventh nationally in singles play, defeated Mercer’s Alara Hollyfield in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles, Kozarov and teammate Julia Adams, ranked 16th as a duo, downed the Bears’ Mary Courville and Lauren Rich, 6-0.
Furman (18-6, 6-0 SoCon) concludes the regular season against ETSU (12-8, 6-0) on Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. in Greenville, South Carolina, to determine the regular-season champion.
