Remainder of Nexstar football package announced

Additional seven games complete nine-game regional broadcast slate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc., Ingles Markets and the Southern Conference announced Friday the remainder of the Ingles SoCon Game of the Week football broadcast package on select Nexstar affiliates throughout the spring season. After a one-week hiatus while the entire March 6 slate of the Ingles SoCon Men’s Basketball Championship presented by General Shale Brick airs on select Nexstar affiliates, the football package picks back up with Mercer at VMI on March 13.

The following week, March 20, features a Nexstar doubleheader. Game one that day features a matchup of two teams that enter this weekend nationally ranked, as No. 18 Chattanooga visits No. 17 Furman at noon Eastern. At 4 p.m., Mercer hosts Western Carolina.

The Catamounts appear on the package again the following weekend, visiting ETSU in a mountain rivalry game on March 27.

No. 20 Wofford hosts The Citadel on April 3, while the next two weekends are wildcard games, with matchups to be announced later.

Samford and ETSU kicked off the broadcast package on Feb. 20, followed by The Citadel at Mercer on Feb. 27, bringing the total number of Ingles SoCon Games of the Week to nine this season.

Each game in the Nexstar package will air concurrently on ESPN+.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Nexstar again to provide additional television exposure for our football programs in various markets in our footprint,” SoCon Commissioner Jim Schaus said. “This coverage is vital to our member schools and the conference overall.”

Nexstar affiliates with the opportunity to air games are: ECBD (Charleston), WGHP (Greensboro/High Point), WJHL (Johnson City), WWCW (Lynchburg/Roanoke) and WYCW (Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville). New for this season, WMYT in Charlotte, North Carolina, will carry the entire football package. Although not a Nexstar station, WMUB (Macon), Mercer University Broadcasting, will also air select contests.
