The NCAA Division I Council Coordination Committee recently approved the appointments of representatives from three Southern Conference institutions to committees within the Division I governance structure.
Elizabeth Rabb, Wofford College’s deputy athletics director and senior woman administrator, was appointed to the NCAA Division I Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee recommends representatives for all Division I committees (e.g., sport committees) and Division I vacancies on Association-wide committees.
ETSU assistant university counsel Kay Lennon McGrew was selected to the Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee. As a member of this committee, Lennon McGrew will assist in making a determination of facts related to the certification of a prospective student-athlete's amateur status.
Samantha Eustace, Mercer University’s head women’s lacrosse coach, will represent the conference on the Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee. The Division I Women’s Lacrosse Committee is actively involved in various sport specific areas including championship oversight and participant selection.
“Congratulations to these outstanding administrators and coach for their appointment to these very prestigious NCAA committees,” SoCon Commissioner Jim Schaus said. “It is a great benefit to their institutions and our conference for them to participate in these critical roles in our industry at the national level.”
