SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Two Southern Conference women’s tennis matches have been postponed due to positive COVID tests and quarantine requirements within Western Carolina’s program.
The Catamounts’ contest against Samford, scheduled for Sunday, March 21, in Cullowhee, North Carolina, is postponed and will be attempted to be made up at a later date. Western Carolina’s match at Mercer, scheduled for Tuesday, March 23, is postponed and will be made up on April 18 at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, Western Carolina’s nonconference tilt against South Carolina State, slated for Saturday, March 20, is postponed.
Western Carolina (7-5, 0-2 SoCon) is set to resume play on Sunday, March 28, when the Catamounts welcome Chattanooga (7-4) to Cullowhee, North Carolina. Samford (9-7) next plays at UNCG (4-1, 1-1) on Friday, March 19, in the Bulldogs’ SoCon opener, before hosting ETSU (6-8, 1-0) on Friday, March 26. Mercer (5-4, 0-1) hosts Chattanooga on March 19 and plays at Georgia Southern on March 24.
