STATESBORO, Ga. – Giulia Giorgi and Bri Teegarden officially kicked off the Mercer women's track and field outdoor season on Friday night as they ran in 1,500-meter event at the Georgia Southern GATA Classic.
 
The duo finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to earn nine total points. Giorgi came home fourth with a time of 5:04.78, and Teegarden rounded out the top five, clocking in at 5:07.64 in her first collegiate outdoor meet.
 
Mercer will continue action on day two of the Georgia Southern GATA Classic beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
