BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The Samford women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Louisiana-Monroe Tuesday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 1-3 on the young season. ULM falls to 0-1 with the loss.
 
Samford earned singles wins on the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 courts. Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg won at No. 1, while Natalie De Ugarte won on the No. 2 court. At No. 3 singles, Alexis Lopez picked up the victory, and Samantha Nanere took the win at No. 6 singles.
 
In doubles, Samford won on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts to secure the doubles point. The match at No. 3 doubles was unfinished.
 
Samford will host UT Martin Sunday. Feb. 7. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
