SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Saturday’s Southern Conference men’s basketball games between VMI and Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has been canceled due to positive COVID tests and quarantine requirements within VMI’s program and the contest between Samford and The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, has been canceled due to positive COVID tests and quarantine requirements within Samford’s program. The games would have been the regular-season finales for all four squads.
 
Chattanooga (18-6, 9-6 SoCon) is back in action Wednesday at Mercer (14-9, 7-8) at 7 p.m., while The Citadel (12-10, 5-10 SoCon) visits Furman (15-7, 9-4) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. VMI (12-11, 7-7) and Samford (6-12, 2-9) are both idle until the Ingles SoCon Basketball Championship presented by General Shale.
