SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In accordance with state, local and campus COVID-19 safety measures, the Southern Conference has determined its attendance policies and streaming schedules for its winter Olympic sport championships.
 
There will be no general ticket sales at the SoCon Wrestling Championship, scheduled for Feb. 28 at App State’s Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina. In addition to the teams, essential staff, workers and administrative personnel on site, a maximum of 13 student-athletes and three coaches per team are permitted to request two non-transferrable tickets each for immediate family members. A clear-bag policy will be in effect at the Holmes Convocation Center. The championship will be streamed in its entirety on ESPN+.
 
Spectators will not be permitted to attend the SoCon Indoor Track and Field Championships (Feb. 27-28) and the SoCon Rifle Championship (March 6-7), which will both be hosted by VMI in Lexington, Virginia.
 
All seating areas will be utilized to better accommodate social distancing of the participating track and field teams at the VMI Corps Physical Training Facility. Live results will be available for both days of the competition and day two will be streamed live on ESPN+ beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern.
 
Kilbourne Hall, site of the rifle championship, does not allow for proper social distancing measures and does not provide easy viewing options for spectators not inside the range. Live stats will be available both days of competition.
 
“We look forward to another set of winter Olympic sport championships,” SoCon Commissioner Jim Schaus said. “Due to compliance with COVID-19 protocols, we will not be able to have public ticket sales this year. A lot of planning and efforts are being done to ensure a safe and competitive environment for all participants.”
