SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference men’s basketball game between Mercer and Chattanooga in Macon, Georgia on Saturday, Jan 1, has been postponed due to positive COVID tests and quarantine requirements within the Mercer program.
 
The league will attempt to reschedule the game.
 
Chattanooga hosts ETSU Thursday evening in the conference opener for both squads, which will be broadcast on ESPNU, while Mercer is set to host Samford on Wednesday, Jan. 5, in its next contest.
 
The contest betwene Mercer and Chattanooga was slated to be the Ingles SoCon Game of the Week and air on Nexstar, and will now be replaced by the Furman at VMI game on Saturday, Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. in Lexington, Virginia. The game, broadcast by Dean Keener and Pete Yanity, will air on WYCW – Greenville & WMYT – Charlotte.
