AFCA, Athlon Sports name FCS All-America teams

Six SoCon players honored between the two organizations

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The American Football Coaches Association and Athlon Sports released their FCS All-America teams Wednesday morning, with six Southern Conference players honored between the two organizations.
 
ETSU running back Quay Holmes, Chattanooga offensive lineman Cole Strange, Samford all-purpose player Montrell Washington and VMI linebacker Stone Snyder appeared on both squads, with Holmes, Strange and Washington on the AFCA first team and Snyder on the second team. Athlon Sports named just a first team.
 
Chattanooga defensive lineman Devonnsha Maxwell and VMI long snapper Robert Soderholm earned second-team honors from the AFCA.
