SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer’s Tracy Rodriguez has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Nov. 3-10. The selection is made by the conference office.  

Rodriguez, a junior from Nimes, France, earned individual medalist honors after finishing with a 3-under-par 213 at the Mercer Invitational, hosted by Mercer at the Brickyard Golf Club in Macon, Georgia. She averaged 71 strokes through three rounds on the par-72 course.  

During the first round on Monday, Rodriguez tied the 18-hole course record with a 5-under-par 67 with nine birdies. She recorded three more birdies in the second and third round to tie for the most birdies in the 66-player field with 12. Rodriguez carded a 73 (+1) in the final two rounds to win the first tournament of her career. She was the only player to finish under-par.  

This marks Rodriguez’s first weekly honor of the season and her career. 

The Bears concluded fall competition and will open the spring season on Feb. 18 at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational in Greensboro, Georgia.
