SoCon Goes Pro: NFL Week 7
SoConSports.com will provide weekly notes of former SoCon players throughout the NFL season
Younghoe Koo (Georgia Southern) scored the game-winning field goal that led the Atlanta Falcons to a 30-28 win over the Miami Dolphins as the game clock expired on Sunday. He scored a season-high 12 points on three field goals and three extra points. All three of his field goals were from the 30- to 39-yard range. Koo is tied for the NFL lead with the Broncos’ Brandon McManus and the Bears’ Cairo Santos with a perfect 100 percent field goal percentage this season.
James Bradberry (Samford) posted numbers in nearly every defensive statistical column this week in the New York Giants’ 25-3 win over the Carolina Panthers. He tallied two solo tackles, one fumble recovery, an interception for 14 yards and a pass breakup. He’s now tied for third in the NFL with three interceptions and is the first Giant to have a pass defended in each of the first seven games of the season.
Tampa Bay’s
Dee Delaney (The Citadel) recorded his first career interception, which he returned for 26 yards, off a pass from the Bears’ Justin Fields before leaving the game early due to an injury. He also tallied four solo tackles, one assist and a pass defended in his most effective game of the season.
The Denver Broncos’
Sam Martin (App State) punted four times averaging a season-high 50.5 yards in the team’s 17-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Andre Roberts (The Citadel) officially signed with the Los Angeles Chargers last Thursday.
