SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Several changes have been made to the upcoming Southern Conference men’s basketball schedule. Two league games have been postponed for this weekend, one has been moved up to Saturday from Jan. 20 and a game time has been changed for one of the league’s ESPNU broadcasts.
 
Saturday’s game between Mercer (7-3, 0-2 SoCon) and UNC Greensboro (6-4, 1-1), scheduled for 2 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina, has been postponed due to positive COVID testing and quarantine requirements within Mercer’s program, and Saturday’s 2 p.m. game between Furman (8-3, 2-0) and VMI (6-5, 1-1) in Greenville, South Carolina, has been postponed due to positive COVID testing and quarantine requirements within VMI’s program.
 
UNCG will now play Wofford (5-4, 2-1) in Greensboro on Saturday at 5 p.m. That contest was originally slated to take place Jan. 20, but both squads saw their games this weekend postponed due to COVID issues with their opponents – Wofford had been scheduled to play at ETSU – and will now have a future Wednesday date free to potentially reschedule postponed games. Coincidentally, the teams just met in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Wednesday, with UNCG claiming an 84-75 win, meaning they will now play each other in consecutive contests.
 
UNCG’s game at Furman on Jan. 25 on ESPNU, originally slated for 9 p.m., will now tip at 7 p.m.
