SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNC Greensboro will host Mercer on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a makeup of a Southern Conference men’s basketball game that was postponed from Jan. 9.

The squads had been slated to make up that game on Feb. 1, but UNCG saw its Monday night game at Furman postponed due to COVID issues within the Paladin program and was scheduled to be idle on Wednesday, and Mercer’s Wednesday game with Samford was postponed due to the Bulldogs’ COVID issues, so the Spartans (10-5, 5-2) and Bears (10-4, 3-3) were free to move their makeup date to Wednesday instead, freeing up Feb. 1 for both squads.

Both teams come into Wednesday’s bout with a full head of steam, as UNCG has won four straight to move a game out of first in the SoCon standings, while Mercer has won three straight to even its SoCon record after an 0-3 start.
