CLEVELAND, Ohio – Seven Southern Conference student-athletes earned spots on the Phil Steele and DraftScout.com Preseason FCS All-America teams, including five first-team selections. The Citadel and Furman led the league with two selections each, with both of the Bulldogs’ picks landing on the first team.
 
Citadel running back Alex Ramsey and linebacker Willie Eubanks III, ETSU all-purpose back Quay Holmes, Furman defensive lineman Adrian Hope and Samford punt returner Montrell Washington were first-team picks.
 
Furman running back Devin Wynn was a third-team selection, while Chattanooga offensive lineman Cole Strange was a fourth-team pick.
 
Phil Steele also named all-conference teams for each FCS league.
