College Crosse names Freshman All-Americans

Ten SoCon student-athletes honored

SPARTANBURG – Ten Southern Conference men’s lacrosse student-athletes earned Freshman All-America mention from College Crosse, with one first-team selection, one second-team selection and eight earning honorable mention.
 
Richmond attackman Richie Connell earned first-team honors after posting 22 points on 19 goals and three assists during the abbreviated season. Connell’s 19 goals and 2.71 goals per game led the Spiders and ranked second in the SoCon. Richmond finished the season ranked No. 20 nationally.
 
Air Force attack Brandon Dodd earned second-team distinction after turning in 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists. The rookie was the Falcons’ leading scorer and ranked fourth in the SoCon in points and fifth in points per game (3.86). He was tied for second in the league in assists and assists per game (2.29).
 
Earning honorable mention were: Furman attack Brett Tenaglia, High Point attack Tyler Hendrycks, Jacksonville attack Jacob Greiner, Mercer defenseman Wesley Chairs, Richmond long stick midfielder Jake Kapp, Bellarmine short stick midfielder Harrison Pate, High Point goalie Parker Green and Mercer goalie Colin Kelley.
