INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has announced the participants who will compete in the 2020 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships, with three Southern Conference student-athletes earning spots in the field.

Furman’s Ryan Adams and Gabbi Jennings and Wofford’s Hannah Steelman will compete at the championships, which will be hosted by the University of New Mexico and will be held March 13-14 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

A native of Hudson, Ohio, Adams has qualified in both the mile and the 3,000-meter run. He ranks eighth nationally with a time of 3:57.62 in the mile, a Furman school record which he posted at the Camel City Invitational. Adams enters the meet ranked 12th in the 3,000m after posting a time of 7:49.45, also a school record, at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge. Last weekend at the SoCon Championships, he took first place in the 800-meter run and competed on the gold medal-winning Paladin DMR team.

Jennings, who hails from Slidell, Louisiana, will compete in the mile at the national meet. She enters the meet in seventh place after establishing a new Paladin record with a time of 4:34.74 at the Camel City Invitational. Jennings won SoCon Championship in the mile last weekend.

Steelman, a junior from Orono, Maine, qualified 16th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:07.19. This marks her sixth time competing in an NCAA Championship, as she ran in the 2018 and 2019 Cross Country Championships, 2018 and 2019 Outdoor Championships and 2019 and 2020 Indoor Championships. 

The men’s mile will begin Friday, March 13, at 7:20 p.m. Eastern, followed by the women’s mile at 7:35 p.m. The men’s 3,000 meters will be run on Saturday, March 14, at 8:10 p.m. with the women’s to follow at 8:25.
