SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Kristine Torralba has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition Feb. 26 – March 3. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Torralba tied for seventh out of 264 golfers in the Kiawah Island Classic at the Cougar Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island Resort. The sophomore from Manila, Philippines, finished the three-day event with a career-best 1-under-par. Torralba opened the tournament with a 3-under 69 in the first round while recording birdies on five different holes. She played consistently over the final two days, firing a 1-over 73 with two birdies in both rounds two and three to secure the top ten finish.
 
The weekly award is the first of Torralba’s career.
 
Wofford will tee it up next at the Low Country Intercollegiate, beginning on March 14 at Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
