SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three Southern Conference men’s basketball teams appear in the final edition of this season’s CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. No. 2 ETSU leads the way, with Furman checking in at No. 14 and UNC Greensboro at No. 20.

The Southern Conference and the West Coast Conference are the only leagues with three teams each in the final poll.

ETSU, which picked up a pair of first-place votes, finished behind Gonzaga, which was No. 2 in the final Associated Press and Coaches polls. Led by Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Steve Forbes, the Bucs turned in a 30-4 record this season (16-2 SoCon), winning the SoCon regular-season and tournament titles. ETSU won its final 12 contests en route to setting a school record for wins and becoming just the fourth team in SoCon history to reach 30 victories in a season. The Bucs spent the entire season ranked in the top seven of the mid-major poll, including six weeks at No. 2.

Furman went 25-7 overall, matching the school record for wins that was set last season, and 15-3 in SoCon play. The Paladins spent the entire season in the mid-major poll, spending 16 weeks in the top 10 and peaking at No. 3 on Jan. 6.

UNCG finished the season 23-9 overall and 13-5 in league play. The Spartans were led by SoCon Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year Isaiah Miller and co-Freshman of the Year Keyshaun Langley. UNCG was ranked in all but one poll this season, spending 10 weeks in the top 10 and peaking at No. 6 on Jan. 27.
