Srinivasan named Women's Golfer of the Week

Marks her fifth weekly honor of the season

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Natalie Srinivasan has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition March 4-10. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Srinivasan finished second at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, last week with an overall score of even-par for her fourth top-two or better finish this season. The senior from Spartanburg, South Carolina, opened with a 1-over 72 and followed with an even-par 71 in round two to place her in a tie for second heading into the final 18. Srinivasan used four birdies in the final round to card a 1-under 70 and secure sole possession of second, finishing just one stroke behind the tournament champion. Srinivasan was ranked No. 14 heading into the event and is now listed as the top collegiate women’s golfer in the nation according to Golfstat, behind only Florida’s Sierra Brooks, who is forgoing her final semester of eligibility to turn pro, leaving Srinivasan as the top-ranked active player.
 
The weekly award is the seventh of Srinivasan’s career and her fifth this season.

Furman will compete next at the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Charleston, South Carolina, March 16-17.
