INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA announced the brackets for the 2020 NCAA Championships on Wednesday, revealing the seeding and opponents for the 17 Southern Conference wrestlers who will make the trip to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the tournament, March 19-21. The SoCon will feature five schools and 17 representatives with two wrestlers earning spots at 125, 133, 174, 184 and heavyweight with three wrestlers featuring at 149.
 
Campbell’s Korbin Meink and Chattanooga’s Fabian Gutierrez will take on No. 7 Brandon Paetzell of Lehigh and No. 8 Michael DeAugustino of Northwestern, respectively, at 125 pounds. Meink was awarded the No. 26 seed and Gutierrez was awarded the No. 25 seed. Seeded at No. 9, Campbell’s Noah Gonser will take on No. 24 Tod Small of Iowa State and Appalachian State's Codi Russell, seeded at No. 22, will wrestle No. 4 Mickey Phillipi of Pittsburgh, at 133 pounds.
 
At 141 pounds, No. 8 seeded Joshua Heil of Campbell will face off against No. 25 DJ Lloren of Fresno State. At 149 pounds Appalachian State’s Jonathan Millner represent the highest SoCon seed in the weight class at No. 18, taking on No. 15 Kizhan Clark of American. Chattanooga’s Tanner Smith is the No. 22 seed after earning an at-large bid and will take on No. 11 Brock Zacherl of Clarion, while No. 33-seeded Selwyn Porter of The Citadel will open against No. 32 Greg Gaxiola of Fresno State.
 
Matt Zovistoski of Appalachian State is the No. 24 seed at 157 pounds and will face No. 8 Jacori Teemer of Arizona State. At 165 pounds, Campbell’s Quentin Perez enters as the No. 13 seed to square off with No. 20 Shayne Oster of Northwestern. VMI’s Neal Richards and Appalachian’s Thomas Flitz are seeded at No. 11 and No. 26, respectively. Richards will open against No. 22 Gregg Harvey of Pittsburgh and Flitz will take on No. 7 Devin Skatzka of Minnesota.
 
At 184 pounds, No. 8 Andrew Morgan of Campbell will begin his run at the championship against No. 25 Trevor Allard of Bloomsburg, while No. 20 Matthew Waddell of Chattanooga kicks things off against No. 13 Chris Weiler of Lehigh. Appalachian State’s Demazio Samuel earned the No. 32 seed and will face the No. 33 seed, Bryan McLaughlin of Drexel.  
 
Campbell’s Jere Heino and Appalachian State’s Cary Miller round out the field in the heavyweight division. The 15^th-seeded Heino will start off against No. 18 John Borst of Virginia Tech, while the No. 17 seed Miller will face No. 16 Dalton Robertson of Northern Colorado.
