SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Frazier Rengifo has been named the Southern Conference men’s tennis player of the week for all matches played March 3-9, the conference announced Tuesday. The junior helped ETSU to a 4-1 road win over No. 46 Clemson.
In singles, the native of Cali, Colombia, won 7-6 (5), 6-4 at No. 2 against Clemson’s Teodor Guisca, clinching the win for the Bucs and securing the team’s sixth straight victory.
In doubles action, Rengifo and his partner Chris Mikrovas played in the top spot and put up a valiant fight before falling 6-3 to the Tigers’ top duo of Carlos Kelaidis and Gabriel Diaz Freire.
ETSU (7-6, 2-0 SoCon) returns to conference action, hosting Mercer on Friday, March 13 and Wofford the following afternoon.
