SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Katarina Kozarov has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played Feb. 4-10, the conference office announced Tuesday. Kozarov, a senior, went 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles as Furman (8-3) downed Middle Tennessee, Marshall and Emmanuel to go 3-0 on the week.   
 
In singles, Kozarov, ranked 13^th nationally, played in the top spot against Middle Tennessee on Feb. 7, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lee Barnard. Two days later she added a 6-3, 6-3 win over Marshall’s Anna Smith.
 
In doubles play, Kozarov and her partner Julia Adams, ranked 21^st as a duo, went 1-0 at flight one. The pair earned a 6-2 win over Middle Tennessee’s top duo. Their match against Marshall went unfinished.
 
Furman is off until Feb. 22 when the Paladins take on Liberty in Lynchburg, Virginia.  
 
Also nominated: Alejandra Morales (ETSU), Sophia Adams (UNCG) and Natalia De Ugarte (Samford).
