SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Jake Munns has been named the Southern Conference men’s tennis player of the week for all matches played Feb. 4-10, the conference announced Tuesday. The senior won both his singles and doubles matches against Davidson as the Paladins earned a 4-1 win on Feb. 8.
In singles, Munns earned a 7-5, 6-4 win over Yash Parikh, the Wildcats’ top player.
In doubles action, the native of Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, won 6-2 at flight one with teammate Jake Bhangdia. The pair is ranked 26th nationally.
Furman (4-3) returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 15, taking on UNC Greensboro in a road conference contest.
Also nominated: Dimitri Badra (ETSU), Roger Rogowski (UNCG), Rossouw Norval (Samford) and Niklas Gerdes (Chattanooga).
