CLEVELAND – Chattanooga wide receiver Bryce Nunnelly and Wofford offensive lineman Blake Jeresaty are among 53 football players nationally to earn spots on the FCS Athletics Directors Association’s Academic All-Star Team.
 
Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) institutions are eligible for the award. Each of the nominees were required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials. They must have reached their second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution. They also must have participated in 50 percent (50%) of the games played at their designated position.
 
Nunnelly, a junior from Cleveland, Tennessee, carries a 3.73 GPA in Mechanical Engineering.  He is a two-time first team All-Southern Conference honoree and an Academic All-American.  On the field, he has 2,120 career receiving yards with 12 TDs and 143 catches.  That puts him ninth all-time at UTC in receptions and fourth in career receiving yards. In 2019, Nunnelly led the Mocs and was third in the SoCon with 66.2 receiving yards per game.  He was also fourth in the league with 4.8 receptions per contest and had three 100-yard games.
 
Jeresaty, junior from Charleston, South Carolina, started all 12 games during the 2019 season at center and was the SoCon Jacobs Blocking Award recipient, along with earning All-SoCon honors. He has been named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and the SoCon Fall All-Academic Team. The last three seasons, he was recipient of the Southern Conference Pinnacle Award, presented to the player on a championship team with the highest grade point average. He is majoring in finance and economics.
