Tournament Central

No. 1 Furman 4, No. 5 Samford 0

No. 2 ETSU 4, No. 3 Wofford 1

- Saturday’s championship match will be the third consecutive between Furman and ETSU. Furman won last year’s match 4-1 and earned its third straight tournament title and 18th overall.

-  ETSU advanced to the championship match for the fifth consecutive year with a 4-1 win over Wofford Friday. The Bucs are 1-3 in their last four championship match appearances, falling to Furman twice and splitting with Samford. ETSU is seeking its second overall tournament championship and its second in the last four years.

. ETSU has made it to the championship match every year since rejoining the SoCon.

- Furman will be looking for back-to-back-back tournament titles, a feat that has not been accomplished since College of Charleston won five straight from 2009 to 2013.

- Should Furman win both the regular season championship and the tournament title, they would become the fourth school in the last seven years to win both (College of Charleston - 2013, Samford - 2015 and Furman – 2017, 2018).

- The last two years, both semifinal winners advanced with 4-0 wins. This year, Wofford won the doubles.

- The Paladins and Bucs last squared off just one week ago in the regular-season finale. Furman won 6-1 in Greenville, South Carolina.

- Saturday’s winner will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship.

- Rain disrupted the SoCon Tennis Championship for the second year, as the 2017 Championship was played indoors at the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
