SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s David Beam has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from April 3-9. This selection was made by the league office.
On Saturday, Beam became the first ETSU player since 2017 to record six RBI in one game, just falling short of the cycle. He was 7-for-11 at the plate over the weekend against the VMI Keydets with a homer, a pair of doubles, three runs, six RBI, two walks and a stolen base, finishing the week with a .636 batting average, .692 on base percentage and a 1.091 slugging percentage. The Knoxville, Tennessee, native’s four hits and six RBIs were both career-highs.
Beam currently holds a 3.98 grade point average as a pre-business major.
The Bucs welcome Virginia Tech for a Wednesday evening match up before traveling to Greenville, South Carolina, to take on Furman in a conference series this weekend
