SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Jenna Vroman has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played March 19-25, the conference office announced Tuesday. She is the first Wofford player to garner a weekly award since Julia Paulson was honored on March 13, 2013.

Vroman, a sophomore, went 2-0 in both singles and doubles on the week as Wofford split a pair of matches. The Terriers fell 1-6 to ETSU on March 21 but earned their first win against Chattanooga since 2006 with a 5-2 victory on March 23.

In singles action, Vroman started off the week with a 6-4, 7-5 win against ETSU’s Laylo Bakhodirova in the top spot on March 21. Two days later, she added a 7-5, 6-4 win over Chattanooga’s Polina Goloputova to move to 12-1 in singles play on the season. Vroman is riding a nine-match win streak in singles play.

In doubles play, Vroman and her partner Cassidy Hicks downed Bakhodirova and Alejandra Morales 6-2 at No. 1. The pair followed with a 6-3 win against Chattanooga’s top duo, Delaney Edwards and Emma Van Hee, two days later. Vroman and Hicks are 11-1 at No. 1 doubles this season and have won nine matches in a row.

Wofford (10-5, 2-1 SoCon) hosts Furman (18-1, 2-0 SoCon) on Saturday, March 30.
