SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb’s Tyler Marinelli has been named the Southern Conference wrestler of the week for all competition from Jan. 30-Feb. 5, the league office announced Wednesday.

Marinelli went a perfect 2-0 overall on the week including 2-0 in both conference and dual action. He secured victories over Drew Nicholson of Chattanooga by a 16-1 tech fall in 5:22 and Cameron Pine of Campbell by a 9-1 major decision.

The Jefferson, Georgia, native is 20-2 overall on the season and is a perfect 10-0 in dual matches.

Also nominated: Matt Zovistoski (Appalachian State), Noah Gonser (Campbell) and Ryan Resnick (Chattanooga).
