SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel’s Shane Connolly has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Feb. 13- 19.
The Huntersville, North Carolina, native tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout for the Bulldogs in their 5-0 victory over Delaware State this past weekend. He allowed just two hits over the first three innings and only allowed an eighth-inning bunt single. Connolly becomes the first Bulldog to throw a complete-game shutout since JP Sears against VMI on March 24, 2017.
Connolly, a sophomore, currently holds a 3.942 grade point average and is majoring in business administration.
