CHICAGO – Seven Southern Conference football student-athletes were honored Thursday on the STATS FCS All-America Teams, with Samford punt returner Montrell Washington earning first-team honors.

VMI running back Alex Ramsey, a STATS FCS Walter Payton Award finalist, and Wofford offensive lineman Blake Jeresaty, the SoCon’s Jacobs Blocking Award winner, were second-team offensive picks.

ETSU defensive lineman Nasir Player, SoCon Defensive Player of the Year linebacker Willie Eubanks III of The Citadel, and ETSU defensive back Artevius Smith were second-team defensive selections. Eubanks and Smith were STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award finalists.

Furman special-teamer Grayson Atkins earned a spot on the second team at placekicker.

All five second-team picks also earned All-America honors from the Associated Press, with Jeresaty and Eubanks landing on the first team and Ramsey, Smith and Atkins earning second-team nods.
Player and Washington were second-team picks on the HERO Sports’ All-America Team, while Ramsey earned third-team honors from that organization.
