BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford senior Kelsi Hobbs was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region Honorable Mention when the AVCA released its postseason All-Region teams Tuesday.
 
During the 2019 season, Hobbs led the Southern Conference in both total kills (466) and kills per set (3.95). She had double-digit kills in 29 of the team's 30 matches, and she posted 10 double-doubles this season.
 
At the conclusion of the season, Hobbs was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Year. She then earned SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors after leading the Bulldogs to the SoCon Tournament title.
 
Hobbs leaves school ranking fifth in program history in career kills with 1,341 in her impressive Samford career.
 
Hobbs and the Bulldogs posted the best conference record in program history, going 15-1 in league play. Samford finished 24-6 overall this season.
