SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNC Greensboro’s Nadine Soliman has been named the Southern Conference women’s basketball player of the week presented by GEICO for games played Nov. 19-25, the conference announced Tuesday.

In the Spartans’ lone contest, a 58-53 win at Liberty on Nov. 21, the senior netted a game-high 27 points. The native of Cairo, Egypt, pulled down 10 rebounds, nine of which came on the defensive end. She finished 7-for-13 from the floor (53.8 percent), 4-for-6 from 3-point range (66.7 percent) and 9-for-11 at the free-throw line (81.8 percent). The double-double was her second of the season and the 27 points are a season-best for the preseason all-conference selection.

Soliman leads the league in scoring, averaging 19.6 points per contest, and is third in rebounding, averaging 7.6 boards per game. She is shooting 45.2 percent from 3-point range, a conference best.

UNCG (3-2) hosts Erskine on Tuesday, Nov. 26, before traveling to UNC Asheville on Friday, Nov. 29.
