ETSU women's golf completes round two in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The ETSU women’s golf team completed play in the second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Monday afternoon. Junior Tereza Melecka moved up in a tie for second place after shooting a 1-over-par 73.

Melecka began on hole No. 12 and quickly jumped to 1-under-par with a birdie on 14. However, the Czech Republic native bogeyed four of the next nine holes to fall to 3-over-par for the day. After trading a birdie with a bogey on holes 6 and 7, Melecka played the final four holes at 2-under-par, concluding her second round with a 1-over-par 73. Melecka is currently positioned second on the leaderboard with a score of even-par 144.

UNLV’s Elina Saska continues to lead the pack with 1-under-par 71 today. Melecka is tied for second with South Dakota State’s Teresa Toscano and San Fransisco’s Samantha Gong who shot an even-par to move up three spots on the leaderboard. Fresno State’s Brigitte Thibault dropped three spots to fifth place with a 3-over-par 75.

UNLV jumped to the top on moving day shooting 3-over-par. South Dakota State and San Francisco are both seven strokes behind the host tied for second place with a total score of 23-over-par.

The Bucs are 14th in the standings with a score of 49-over-par 625.

Redshirt sophomore Warda Amira Rawof is tied for 28th (+9), junior Kornbongkoat Sararat is tied for 67th (+15) and freshman Rimasha Ijaz is tied for 92nd (+25).

The final round begins Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. ET. ETSU will be paired with Northern Arizona and Portland State.
