Cronister named Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s volleyball player Catie Cronister has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Sept. 12-18.

The junior outside hitter paced the offence this week with 26 kills, 20 digs, and a pair of service aces to help the Terriers sweep Gardner-Webb 3-0 and Middle Tennessee 3-0 at the Wofford Invitational. The Chicago, Illinois, native was named to the all-tournament team and currently leads the team with 169 kills on the year.

A biology and math double-major, Cronister holds a 3.92 grade point average.

The Terriers return to the court this weekend, opening conference play on Friday at Chattanooga and then traveling to Samford on Saturday.

Also nominated for SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week: Ben Varghese (ETSU cross country), Robert Riddle (Mercer football) and Krista Boesing (Samford volleyball).
