SPARTANBURG, S.C. – HERO Sports released its FCS All-America teams Wednesday, with 11 Southern Conference student-athletes earning the honor. Five league players were first-team selections.

Samford quarterback Devlin Hodges and wide receiver Kelvin McKnight were joined on the first-team offense by ETSU offensive lineman Matt Pyke. Defensive linemen Isaiah Mack of Chattanooga and Ahmad Gooden of Samford were first-team picks on the defensive side of the ball.

Western Carolina defensive back Marvin Tillman was the league’s lone representative on the second team.

Five SoCon players earned third-team distinction, including Wofford running back Andre Stoddard, Western Carolina quarterback Tyrie Adams (at athlete), Furman bandit linebacker Adrian Hope, ETSU linebacker Dylan Weigel and ETSU placekicker JJ Jerman.

Already this postseason, Hodges, McKnight and Mack have earned All-America honors from the Associated Press, Walter Camp and STATS in addition to HERO Sports. Pyke and Gooden earned All-America honors from the AP and STATS, while Stoddard and Adams were STATS picks and Hope was an AP selection.
