SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG’s Heida Ragney Vidarsdottir has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Oct. 31-Nov.6.

 The Akureyri, Iceland, native helped the Spartans to repeat as Southern Conference women’s soccer tournament champions for the third time in program history. The midfielder assisted on the goal in the championship game and helped to limit the Spartans opponents to just one goal in each game this weekend. Ragney Vidarsdottir was also named the Most Outstanding Player of the SoCon tournament.   

 Ragney Vidarsdottri is a sociology major with a minor in women’s and gender studies and currently holds a 3.77 grade point average.
