SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman goalkeeper Ben Hale has been named the Southern Conference men’s soccer player of the week for all competition Oct.15-21.

Furman defeated conference opponents Wofford and ETSU this weekend to remain unbeaten in conference play (4-0). Against ETSU on Saturday, the Frisco, Texas, native stopped seven shots, including a pair of diving stops in the second half to help hand the Bucs their first home conference loss in over two years. He played all 180 minutes, boasted a .875 save percentage and allowed only one goal over two games.

The Paladins will play for a share of the Southern Conference regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the SoCon men’s soccer championship on Tuesday when they host Mercer. They will then finish out regular season play against UNCG on Saturday.
