SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga volleyball player Lauren Greenspoon has been named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Aug. 30 to Sept. 5, the league office announced Wednesday.

Greenspoon, a senior from Houston, Texas, registered a Chattanooga Classic-high 106 assists and a 10.60 assists-per-set average in three contests this past weekend. Chattanooga went 3-1 on the week, including two three-set victories in the Chattanooga Classic. Greenspoon added 20 assists and six digs Tuesday night against Murray State.

In the classroom, Greenspoon has a 3.6 cumulative grade point average. The psychology major earned a 3.82 GPA in the spring of 2017.

Also nominated for SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week: Austin Herink (ETSU football), Allie Buchalski (Furman women’s cross country) and Catie Cronister (Wofford volleyball).
