SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford goalkeeper Anna Maddox has been named the Southern Conference women’s soccer player of the week for all competition from Sept. 11-17 after leading the Bulldogs to a pair of 1-0 victories.  

The senior from Warner Robins, Georgia, registered four saves at UC Davis on Friday. Maddox followed up that performance with a five-save outing at Saint Mary’s (Calif.) on Sunday.

Maddox has now recorded three straight shutouts. Samford now turns to Southern Conference play, travelling to Cullowhee, North Carolina, to take on Western Carolina Friday at 6 p.m. ET.

Also nominated: Molly Dwyer (Furman), Alexius Hill (Mercer), Quiqui Hita (UNCG), Kasey Cooke (Western Carolina) and Hayley Younginer (Wofford).
