INDIANAPOLIS – Southern Conference champion Air Force will face No. 5 national seed Denver in the first round of the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday in Denver, Colorado.

The Falcons (12-5, 6-1 SoCon), who won a share of the SoCon regular-season title and claimed their second straight SoCon tournament championship, will face the Pioneers at 3 p.m. Mountain time at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

Denver (11-3, 5-0 Big East) fell in the semifinals of the Big East Championship. The Pioneers entered the tournament ranked second nationally and are fifth this week.

Air Force and Denver have met once this season already, when the then-third-ranked Pioneers claimed a 14-6 win in Denver on Feb. 11.

The Falcons entered the rankings at No. 17 this week after topping 16th-ranked Richmond in the SoCon title match.
