SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Marina Guinart has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played March 13-19. Guinart went 3-0 in all competition last week as ETSU picked up a pair of conference wins over Chattanooga (4-2) and Western Carolina (7-0).

Guinart cruised to a pair of straight-set wins at No. 2 singles for ETSU, downing Chattanooga’s Delaney Edwards (6-0, 6-2) and WCU’s Savannah Tarantt (6-0, 6-1). Guinart has now won all 11 of her singles matches this season and is 29-0 in singles play during her time at ETSU.

The sophomore was paired with Ioanna Markesini at No. 1 doubles and posted a 7-6 win over Western Carolina’s Taranto and Alexa Webb. Guinart and Markesini are now 7-3 together in doubles play this spring.

ETSU (7-4, 2-0 SoCon) returns to action Saturday (March 25) when the Bucs visit Samford (8-6).

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included Furman’s Ansley Speaks, Mercer’s Katia Stavroulaki, Samford’s Ellie Gerlach and Wofford’s Taylor Carlson.
