BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University wrestling will host Indiana on Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. in Varsity Gym as part of the 2017 NWCA Division I Dual Championship Series presented by The United States Marine Corps and Theraworx, the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced on Monday.
The Mountaineers earned the ability to host the NWCA Division I Dual Championship Series by winning the Southern Conference regular-season championship during a historic year. App State finished with a perfect 7-0 conference record and has a 13-2 overall record. The championship is Appalachian’s second straight and ninth overall.
Last year, the Black and Gold traveled to Indiana for the NWCA Division I Dual Championship Series and came away with a 21-13 victory. The Mountaineers won the final three matches of the day to get the come-from-behind win over the Hoosiers.
