BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Western Carolina was swept by Virginia Tech 1-0, 11-3 Tuesday in the Catamounts final nonconference doubleheader of the season at Tech Softball Park.

Virginia Tech scored the decisive lone run in the bottom of the fourth in game one, and a Catamount error allowed the lead-off batter Olivia Lattin to reach first and she went around to score off an RBI single by Caitlyn Nolan.

In game two, Virginia Tech scored five runs in the bottom of the first never looking back in the game.

WCU ends the non-conference portion of its season with a record of 24-13.

The Catamounts travel to Furman this weekend for the Catamounts final Southern Conference road series of the year. Saturday's doubleheader is set to begin at 1 p.m. Game one will be broadcast on the American Sports Network. The Sunday single game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
