Notes:
-Chattanooga’s women’s team won the SoCon tournament on Sunday afternoon. No team has ever won both the men’s and women’s tournament in the same weekend.  There have been 16 occasions in which one school placed both its men’s and women’s teams in the finals.   The most recent was 2013 when Davidson won the men’s title, but lost the women’s final to Chattanooga.

-Chattanooga is making its 18th appearance in the tournament final (10-7), while ETSU is making its ninth appearance in the title game (6-2).

-Chattanooga holds a 7-6 lead over ETSU in games played at the Southern Conference Tournament.

-The Mocs and Bucs have met five other times for the tournament title (1983, 1992, 1993, 2003, 2004).  ETSU owns a 3-2 advantage in the title game, having won the tournament in 1992, 2003 and 2004.

-With a win, Chattanooga will claim its 11th tournament title.  Davidson holds the conference record with 12 tournament championships.

-Both Matt McCall (UTC) and Steve Forbes (ETSU) are in their first year as head coach at their respective schools.  The last first-year head coach to win the tournament was Chattanooga’s John Shulman in 2005.
