SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chattanooga Mocs will take on the Indiana Hoosiers in the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, it was announced Sunday evening.
The Mocs (29-5) earned the No. 12 seed in the East Region and will square off against the No. 5 Hoosiers (25-7) in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday (March 17). Tipoff and television assignments will be announced at a later date.
Chattanooga won the Southern Conference regular season title and claimed the tournament championship with a 73-67 win over ETSU Monday night (March 7).
It is the second consecutive year that the Southern Conference representative has earned a No. 12 seed as Wofford was tabbed the 12 seed in the West Region before the Terriers fell to Arkansas (56-53).
The winner of the Chattanooga-Indiana matchup will advance to face either Kentucky or Stony Brook.
