Wofford's Magee Named Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Fletcher Magee has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all games played Feb. 2-8. Magee averaged 20.3 points per game and shot 73 percent from the field, including a blistering 85 percent from 3-point range, in three games for the Terriers. Wofford fell at league-leading Chattanooga (79-63) on Thursday, before topping Samford (78-65) on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers then claimed a 92-60 decision over VMI on Monday night.

The Orlando, Fla., native scored in double figures all three games last week. After posting 14 points at Chattanooga, Magee scored 13 in the win at Samford. Monday night, he scored 34 points in the win over VMI as he went 9-of-10 from 3-point range. Magee’s 34 points tied VMI’s QJ Peterson for the highest single-game output by a SoCon player this season and was the highest point total for a Terrier since Noah Dahlman scored 34 against Western Carolina in 2011.

Magee was 19-of-26 from the field and went 17-of-20 from 3-point range last week. He went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line and added six rebounds and a steal.

The freshman is second in the SoCon in 3-point percentage (.460) and ranks fourth in made 3-pointers per game (2.6). He is second among league freshmen with 12.4 points per game.

Wofford (12-13, 8-4 SoCon) returns to action Thursday night when the Terriers host Mercer (18-7, 8-4 SoCon).
