SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Lyn Yee Choo has been named General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for competition held Jan. 27-Feb. 2, the league office announced Wednesday.
A redshirt senior on the ETSU women’s tennis team, Choo helped the Bucs to consecutive 7-0 wins over USC Upstate and Appalachian State to open the dual-match season this past weekend. The native of Kuching, Malaysia, earned straight-set singles wins in both matches while playing at the No. 1 spot for the Bucs. She also contributed to a doubles victory in each contest.
Choo ranks as the No. 12 singles player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley regional rankings.
She boasts a 3.98 grade point average and is majoring in computing with concentrations in information systems and information technology.
