FCS Playoffs - Second Round

Chattanooga at Sam Houston State (ESPN3) - 3:00 p.m.

• Chattanooga and Wofford advanced in the FCS playoffs with wins at home, while Samford fell at Youngstown State (38-24).

• The Citadel earned the No. 6 overall seed and was idle last weekend. The Bulldogs host Wofford on Saturday.

• Wofford topped Charleston Southern (15-14), while Chattanooga raced past Weber State (45-14) in the first round.

• Saturday’s game between The Citadel and Wofford marks the first time two conference teams have met in the playoffs since Georgia Southern topped Wofford (23-20) in 2010.

• The Mocs have won at least one playoff game in each of the past three years.

• The Southern Conference has three teams in the final 16 of the FCS playoffs. League teams are 46-25 in the round of 16.

• The Southern Conference has the most wins (105) and highest winning percentage (.610) in the playoffs of all FCS leagues.

• Seven of the league’s nine teams have appeared in the playoffs at least once.

• SoCon teams are 7-6 against opponents from the Southland Conference in the playoffs.

• SoCon teams are 12-2 against FCS non-conference opponents in 2016.

• Sixteen of the league’s 36 conference games this season have been decided by one possession. Since the start of the 2013 season, 54 of 124 (.435) league games have been decided by one possession.

• Southern Conference teams are 12-2 against FCS nonconference opponents in 2016.
